Low Level Laser Therapy

Low Level Lasers emit a visible light that when applied to an affected area initiates an increased microcirculation and enhances tissue regeneration. The overall result is decreased pain and inflammation and an increased range of motion.

Low Level Laser Therapy, or LLLT, has been used for over 25 years. In blind studies it has been shown to be a safe and effective treatment for physical injuries such as burns, surgery wounds, inflammation, and pain.

Healing Research

The FDA began approving Low Level Lasers (commonly known as "Cold" Lasers) in 2002 for relief from pain. Using LLLT creates a decrease in both the sensory nerve stimulation and the sympathetic stimulation which results in a decrease of pain within minutes.

LLLT improves cellular metabolism and accelerates the process that cleans and hastens a rapid cellular increase. Improving cellular metabolism therefore improves wound healing. Especially helpful for patients with burns or severe injuries.

"The cell is a machine driven by energy - in every medical tradition, before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy!"

-Albert Von Szent-Gyorgl (1967)

How it Works

Simply stated the Low Level Laser is a bio-modulator. When your body is out of balance, with some parts doing too much and other parts not enough, then the laser will up-regulate the body accordingly to move back into balance and rhythm. Balance is created through "entrainment". Imagine a group of pendulum clocks all in motion, but out of rhythm with the others in the room. Eventually, the clock pendulums will entrain so they are all in perfect rhythm and harmony, each one moving in time with the others.

As your body becomes entrained through the laser treatments, the natural synchrony of your system balances and harmonizes, which creates optimal health. In your body's biological organization, the individual organs, cells, tissues and systems all have individual frequencies that combine to create a harmonious, collective frequency that is an integrated, unified whole. The strength of your system's collective vibration becomes decreased when disturbed (such as injury) and the body is incapable of its own entrainment to bring the frequencies back to balance. This imbalance can lead to disorder and disease.

LLLT is a treatment that can be used in conjunction with current therapies and all forms of treatments. Patients have reported their healing improves and accelerates when LLLT is used with other modalities.

Case Study of LLLT

A patient came to Dr. Hall with pain in her neck, shoulders, low back, legs and knees. There was reduced circulation in the toes of both feet and decreased circulation in her right thigh. In order to get an idea of the severity of the inflammation, Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging (DITI at Longevity Center, Elm Grove WI) was used to scan her body.

White and red areas show areas of inflammation - the source of severe pain and discomfort.

Dr. Hall began treatment with the Low Level Laser and chiropractic adjustments along with recommendations for supplements to support the healing process. The patient reported immediate results, including less pain and improved mobility. After two weeks and five treatments, the patient had another digital image taken.

There was a pronounced reduction of inflammation.

Other areas of the patient's body showed an equally impressive reduction of inflammation. The blood flow to the toes and thigh had increased significantly as well.
